Gang: The resteraunt is still a bit hazy, even though this is a non-smoking section. George---the thin, older guy w/ the accent---is looking at all of you warily, Damon especially. Lisa---the large younger woman---is still looking like she is surprised to be here.

Sara: Inside the monastery, you find that there is indeed some work going on in the inside. You find Gunther snacking on some liverwurst in the back. As you enter, he looks up. "Ah, Dr. Brin! What can I do for you today?"

Gang: George nods. "Quite some time ago, before we knew this part of the world, there was a great battle. A battle between madness and the world. This madness seeks to corrupt. To destroy. It---"

Gang: At this point, Lisa interrupts. "She already knows this part, George. Its touched her already." She never moves her gaze.

The earth itself was tainted such that no thing could grow there. The survivors of the battle themselves where forever haunted."

Sara: When you say Oliver's names, Gunther half-chokes on his sandwich. After he clears his through, he looks you at bit surprised. "O-Oliver? How did you hear of Oliver?"

Gang: "The most important of the defenders was a blacksmith from the viillage. It was he who was responsible for leading the fight against the madness, when others were too afraid or too much in its sway." George's eyes are shining at this point. It must mean something very important to him. "This man... this man knew the madness would try again. So, he set about trying to guard for that day. A day that is soon to come."

Sara: Gunther drinks from a nearby beer, clearing his through. "Oliver was the archivist here. His family has taken care of the records for the church since... well, as long as there has been a church, I think." Gunther's eyes sadden. "He died recently. No one is sure why. He was found in his home in his living room."

Sara: Gunther. "About a month now. It was a bit sudden. He knew a lot more about the archives than I ever did. He probably would have found the information you seek."

"You said his family had always tended the records, was he the only one left?"

Gang: George leans back in his seat. "The blacksmith, knowing the darkness would return, gathered to him a few to ward against its return. These guardians have been watching for signs of its return, or of those that would seek it. There was such activity in Portland recently. And you two stopped it." He turns to Damon for a moment. "The Rothchild's ascestry is very well documented. There is no question there." He turns back to Ivy. "We have seen signs that what we seek is here. As you played a decisive role before, we believe it is you."

Sara: Gunther nods. "As far as I know. It was a tragedy. He lost his wife and daughter on a trip to Posen several years ago."

Damon nods. He doesn't have ANY blacksmiths in his family. To suggest that he might is to invite asswhuppin'.

Ivy just looks at George, absorbing, wondering if she's ever going to find out where this not-Scotland is.

"Is he buried nearby. I'd like to pay my respects."

Gang: George continues. "The group we belong to have been looking for you for some time. Recently, things have been... turning against us. Several of us have disappeared. Others have been brutally killed. Our enemy has found out about us. We had to find you before it found us." He looks a bit... desparate. "We need you, Ivy MacGregor. We need you to stop what is coming."

Sara: Gunther nods. "I think he would have like that." He gives you directions to a local cemetary.

Surprise shows on Ivy's face. Her jaw drops a little.

"Thanks" Sara will head out and buy some flowers, then go to the cemetary.

Gang: George seems to be about to say something when Sam gives a start and darts toward the floor. This causes Lisa to start, knocking over her drink onto George. Chaos ensues. Sam, after banging his head into the table, returns to his normal perch.
