It is a bright morning in late August. The sun is high int he sky. The woods are empty of any signs of civilization. It is where you have been making home.

But today is different. You awoke with a feeling of... anticipation. Dread. Familiarity.

When you awoke, Ivy was still asleep beside you, pale from your efforts of the day before. She did not even awake at your screams.

Damon: As you do so, you notice a visitor on the windowsill. A shadow against the curtains.

You pull back the curtains to see the stomrcrow staring at you, its cold eyes regarding your strangely.

Still shaken, Damon gets dressed. "Show me."

Runs: As your day passes, the sense of something... off... fills you even more. You pace here and there, almost feeling like a caged animal.

After noon, you feel a presense nearby. A shadow looms over you.

In the branches, you notice the bird, your spirit companion. It seems anxious. As it if wants you to follow.

Runs: The spirit communicates that the distance is great, and that you will be running a long time. You notice you are moving southward.

The woods change to less thick and more habitated. You cross human made roads several times, darting occasionally across large habitated yards. You are nothing more than a blur. Tireless.

Damon: The bird flies into the room, landing near the phone. It nuzzles it once. "The distance is great."

Runs: The woods are a lot less dense here. As evening approaches, you are passing through the woods less and less, and through large lots. The bird flies on. Strangely, you are not hungry.

Damon: There is a knock on your door. "Mr. Rothchild, sir. I have the car ready." It is Coleman.

Damon goes to the door. As an afterthought, he turns to Ivy. "I have to go for a little while."

Damon: The woods are growing thicker. You notice the trees have turned to fall earlier here---in fact, several of the trees are already bare. A few of them look sickly.

'I will now continue my search for the cause of the taint. It would be best if you did not interfere.' Runs then turns around and begins checking the body again, listening intently for them to try to jump him...

Runs: There are what appears to be teeth marks, but in odd clusters, about the body. Half it is face is gone, and the other half is covered with boils.

Damon: Everything is even sicker on the other side. Last time, the spirit world was bright and alive, more so than many places you have seen. Now, it is deader than even the cold warehouses in Portland. Occasionally, you see some restless shade basking in the desolation, but they never approach.

Damon: No sir. The hairs on the back of your neck start to rise. This place is getting a bit too odd. The crow waits as you examine the body.

Runs: You come to the center. There bodies are strongest here. Wolves, human, all around. Most of the human bodies are naked, but a few are clothed. These carried weapons. None survived.

Damon: This body is wearing a suit and tie. It appears to have been torn apart by an animal or some sort. Half of its face is missing. Roll Stamina, diff 7, to avoid hurling.

Runs: That is a theory. Garou return to breed form when killed, so that would explain the naked bodies. The kinfolk are probably the others. No real way to tell when dead.

Damon: As you fiddle wth the box, the uneasiness in your stomach some to a broil. You are assailed by a feeling of sickness, of abject madness all around. There is a residue of pain as well. This is all wrapped in a feeling of desecration---physical and spiritual. Spiritual especially. It feels like the darkness that was in Ivy.
