Three Pillars: Second Chance
Schedule
Time
Games will be held every Thursday from 7pm to 10 or 11pm PST/PDT unless modified by previous arrangement.
Place
We are back to using NetMeeting, connecting to Justin's machine. However, if there is a problem, we will revert to IRC.
If you do not have an IRC client, here are some suggestions for Windows:
- mIRC: A well rated Windows client, but shareware.
- doIRC: A well rated Java client, but not for the beginner.
- MS Chat: The client we used back in my original net games. It is not being developed anymore, but can be found here
We will use DALnet's IRC servers. You can use irc.dal.net as a default, but I will suggest better after some research. Each client has a different place to put where to connect, so I cannot help you there (that is what help files are for).
Just like NetMeeting, you can have your own name ("nick"); just make sure no one else has it (the server will let you know). Each program has its own way to set the nick; you can always use the /nick command as well. It is also a good idea to use the /mode command to make yourself invisible (or look it up in your helpfile). A list of IRC commands is available; most clients will have shortcut keys.
The channel's name will usually be #pillars with the now familiar password. An e-mail before game confirming the server, channel and password will be distributed.
